Michael Sotiriou, Director
Michael specialises in business, communication, operational and organisational issues. His experience within ATM is diverse having worked on assignments from ATM R&D, Strategic Communications, 8.33 kHz Expansion, and programmes including the cornerstones of SESAR.
Standing at the helm of Peleros Aviation, Michael is responsible for business strategy. He works with clients to understand them, their operating environment and their needs and together with senior consultants, advises, proposes and applies the most suited services.
A driven professional who firmly believes in honesty and integrity, Michael ensures that these characteristics filter down throughout Peleros Aviation. Indeed, this reflects the character of all consultants within.
Rod Marten, Director
Rod has more than 45 years experience in civil and military Air Traffic Management; as a controller, staff officer and consultant and has been involved in EATCHIP and EATMP developments since their inception.
For EUROCONTROL Rod has sat as Chairman of both the Mode S Elementary Surveillance - Operational Introduction Task Force and the Civil/Military SSR Environment Liaison Focus Group. Additional responsibilities for centralised Interrogator Code allocation and representation at the USA led JTIDS/MIDS Multinational Working Group.
Rod has provided expert operational support for ground-based ATC surveillance development in the European Air Traffic Management Programme. Duties involve chairmanship of international civil/military task forces and focus groups, institutional aspects and surveillance related regulatory matters, EUROCONTROL representation at external working groups and relevant international bodies.
During his time at the UK National Air Traffic Services (NATS), first as a Royal Navy Commander and subsequently recruited as a civilian manager, Rod was accountable for overseeing the development of civil and military aircraft surveillance, radar application services and SSR code allocation matters. Much of his time was spent in liaison with the CAA Safety Regulation Group, Ministry of Defence, Aircraft Operators, Government and Private Sector Bodies.
Rod has also been a member of the NATO Strategic Commanders’ Identification Panel.
Anthony Green, Senior ATC and AIS Consultant
Anthony has more than 40 years experience in civil and military Air Traffic Control, Aeronautical Information Services, and Instrument Procedures Design, with more than 20 years experience at numerous aviation authorities in the Middle East.
In recent years Anthony has acted as General Manager for the provision of Air Traffic Services at Bahrain International Airport & Area Control Centre and Air Traffic Control Advisor to the Bahrain Government & Bahrain Department of Civil Aviation Affairs. The services provided included Air Traffic Control, Meteorology, Engineering, Aeronautical Information Services, Information Technology and an Aviation Technical Training School.
Anthony obtained his civil Air Traffic Control Licences from the UK CAA and ICAO and also obtained Aerodrome, Approach Procedural, Approach Radar, Area Procedural, Area Radar Military (Royal Navy) ATC Licence.
David Marten, Senior ATC/ATM Safety Consultant
David has more than 50 years experience in civil and military Air Traffic Management; as a controller, staff officer and ATM consultant. Specifically involved in European ATM initiatives and developments since their inception (EATCHIP & EATM), he has a very strong overall knowledge of requirements that have emerged from European ATM initiatives including the Single European Sky project.
Over a 10 year period David has led assignments with EUROCONTROL, during which time he has been involved with several safety initiatives including the introduction of Reduced Vertical Separation Minima in European Airspace, Planning, Developing and Coordinating EUROCONTROL Safety Programmes and in particular he led the team that developed the Strategic Safety Action Plan, which was put in place to rectify shortcomings in European ATM safety highlighted by the Uberlingen and Milan accidents in the early two thousands. He was Coordinator for that programme and its successor Programme, the European Safety Programme for 4 years. Latterly he has been the coordinator of EUROCONTROL’s ATM Safety Framework Maturity Surveys. David has represented EUROCONTROL on ATM safety matters at a number of ICAO fora.
During the worldwide ATM Y2K systems check at the turn of the Millennium he was involved with the ICAO/IATA/British Airways Y2K programme, during which time he visited ATM facilities in States across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
David was Deputy Director of UK National Air Traffic Services Limited’s (NATS) International Directorate as Head of the European Affairs Department. In this capacity he was responsible for the development of the UK’s EATCHIP Convergence and Implementation Programme (CIP) and its subsequent annual updates; which included details of all technical aspects of the UK ATM system. Throughout the EATCHIP Programme he was one of the two UK’s nominated Liaison Officers and in that capacity was involved in a number of the EATCHIP Committees. He also worked closely with the Department of Transport and represented the UK on a number of European Community committees. During this period he worked with the DOT on the EUROCONTROL Revised Convention, representing the UK on several of the associated committees and Workshops.
David is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (FRAeS) and a member of the Member Institute of Management (MIM).
