ATM General:

• European ATM initiatives and developments since their inception (EATCHIP, EATM & SES).

• Development and management of ATC/ATFM and CNS/ATM programmes including the cornerstones of SESAR and NextGen.

• Responsibility for the countries located in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Commonwealth of Independent States as well as direct interaction with NATO, the EUROCONTROL Agency, the European Commission, ICAO, IATA, IFALPA, and IAOPA.

• Resolution of ICAO audit findings for the ANS domain (which includes ATS, CNS, AIS, MET, PANS-OPS, CHARTS and Search and Rescue).

• Operational validation exercise in the framework of OATA (Overall ATM/CNS Architecture for Europe).


ATC and Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR):

• Operational support for ground-based ATC surveillance development in the European Air Traffic Management Programme.

• Mode S Elementary Surveillance - Operational Introduction Task Force and the Civil/Military SSR Environment Liaison Focus Group.

• Centralised Interrogator Code allocation and representation at the USA led JTIDS/MIDS Multinational Working Group.

• International civil/military task forces and focus groups, institutional aspects and surveillance related regulatory matters, including European Union Implementing Rules.


Safety:

• Safety initiatives including the introduction of Reduced Vertical Separation Minima in European Airspace.

• Planning and Coordinating EUROCONTROL Safety Programmes.

• Coordination of EUROCONTROL’s ATM Safety Framework Maturity Surveys.

• Safety Culture Assessments of ANSPs as part of the European Safety Programme (ESP).

• Assistance for compiling & drafting ESP+ Bi annual Report 2011 & preparation for ICAO Meetings.

• Provision of Safety Oversight expertise to the Oman Civil Aviation Authority

• Risk & Data Analysis (aircraft accidents and incidents).
